I have been gathering and collecting old movie magazines for years.
The black and white era, the 20′, 30′ even the 40′ and to some extent the 50′ are my favorite times for movies. I love the style of clothing, the flair and elegance of those decades. The movies were great. I keep watching some of them over and over.
This box is big enough to hold some of your old movie collection. This is an art object, perfectly to just put on display, but can hold a few of your treasures. This is really one of a kind.
I couldn’t make one exactly like it again even if I tried. Lots of work went in to it. The designs, the gathering the application. I used bees wax, which is a great translucent look with a yellow warm tint and the smell of the box is fantastic. I love bees wax, it’s a bit expensive but worth it. Even the inside is decorated. Each sides got careful attention. The bottom has red velvet with gold stains. All made to look old and a bit grungy, including the feet. The feet are actually tops of my Annick Goutal Perfumes bottles. I had a few of them since Annick Goutal is one of my favorites perfume maker. I’ll include a pictures of the four bottles that sacrificed their tops. That would be from left to right: Songes, Grand Amour, Eau Du Sud, Songes, Gardinia Passion. The tops started out super shiny but as feet I made them a bit grungy looking. The inside of the lid has a label with my signature.
