Sometimes when I have a painting that hangs around for a couple of years and doesn’t seem to wanna sell, I take a 2nd look at it.
Here are two paintings that are getting evaluated.
One I already worked on to give it a certain feel I want that seemed missingand one that I am in the middle of changing.
Here is the one that is already changed.
“Grandmothers Apple Tree. A 20 x 30 inch oil painting.
I wasn’t exactly happy with it after I looked at it for a few month.
The image on the left is the before, on the right the way it is
now.
This is a tree that is in the corners of my memories all the time.
Here is the other painting that is getting a work over.
“Mona Lavender Still Life.” (The painting was up for sale on ETSY but I have taken it down until the new revised painting is finished.)
It was too busy and the negative space was non existent making it hard to get comfortable with.
While I loved it in one way I also felt something needed to be done to make it more pleasing.
Which is what I am trying to do now.
I may just end up ruin it all together when I am done but that is a risk I will take.
We will see the outcome. When the dark areas have dried a bit I will revisit the flowers.
