The Great Egret is one of the most gorgeous birds especially when showing off the special plumage that grows during nesting season. Sukuma is – Zulu for “Arise”. After shot with a tranquilizer the poachers brutally cut off her Horn and half of her face, with a chainsaw. She miraculously survived but could not smell anymore due to her injuries, so she wasn’t able to find her new born baby, who was then also later found dead. [...] |
